Sports Mentoring Programme
97% of children are playing community sport at the end of the 1-year sports mentoring program.
Each child will spend a year in the sports mentor program, alternating between one-on-one and group sports sessions every weekend.
When a child develops the interest and motivation to engage in a particular sport, Hoa Motuhake will enrol the child in an appropriate club, team or class, and the mentor will start taking them to their sport each week. This can happen at any time throughout the year.
“The effects of having a positive role model who provides stability for young people can’t be underestimated.”
